Fluocinolone acetonide is a topical steroid that can be used to decrease inflammation and relieve itching and redness. It also helps control dryness, discomfort and scaling, making it ideal for eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions.
At docent, fluocinolone may be combined with hydroquinone and/or tretinoin to limit any discomfort while you become acclimated to these ingredients. While short-term, low-potency steroids are safe to use on the face, they should be avoided long-term; therefore, fluocinolone will only be used for the first month's prescription.
